Lamar Dodd School of Art is excited to welcome Annika Kappenstein as a new faculty member. She will be joining the Graphic Design Area, sharing her creative and professional design work experiences in the industry, as well as her perspective for owning and operating a design firm. Her expertise in brand strategy, visual identity systems, logo design, web design, typography, print collateral and information graphics will enhance the department’s curriculum, which is designed to prepare students to communicate ideas and experiences by integrating visual and textual content across various media.
Annika received her MFA in Communication Design from Braunschweig University of Art in Braunschweig, Germany, before moving to the United States to work in large brand consultancies such as Landor Associates and Interbrand in New York City. Currently, she is the owner and creative director for Amala Design Group in Atlanta, while also teaching courses at the Miami Ad School at the Portfolio Center.
