Since February, UGA Professors, graduate students and Clarke Middle School faculty have been working with middle school students to explore topics related to empowerment and public art. The Arts + Empowerment project has resulted in a collection of photographs of 7th and 8th grade girls doing ‘power poses’ that will be exhibited in Athens this summer.

C-U-B-E is pleased to feature visual outcomes of an interdisciplinary workshop, unsolved: math+de-sign, a pilot program designed for math, art, and design research, with the goal of making a product to be used in math outreach contexts.

Students paint an object so that it is camouflaged in its environment from a specific point of view, exploring color matching in real time and space. The project is inspired by Liu Bolin's performance paintings. These hidden objects may be discovered all throughout the Dodd, or can be located using the site map.
Graduating BFA students in Fabric Design, Sculpture, Art X, Jewelry + Metals, Scientific Illustration will display the work from their capstone course in Dodd Gallery spaces. The work is on view from Friday, April 14 through Friday April 21. An opening reception will take place on Friday evening April 14 from 6 - 8 pm.
Knitting: See One, Do One, Teach One is on view this week, April 3 – April 7, 2017, in the C-U-B-E Gallery on second floor N231.
Graduating BFA students in Painting and Drawing, Art Education, & Graphic Design will display the work from their capstone course in Dodd Gallery spaces. The work is on view from Friday, March 31 through Friday April 7. A closing reception will take place on Thrusday evening April 6 at 6pm.
Off the Wall is a group exhibition by thirty first-yaer art students in Foundations/Studio Core Color and Composition classes taught by Professor Imi Hwangbo. Working in small collaborative groups, students created large scale drawings in black masking tape on the walls and floor of the Foundations Project Space on the first floor north area of the main Dodd building. The show will be on view from March 2–14, 2017. The show open to the public.

The 2017 Master of Fine Arts Degree Candidates exhibition will be on view at the Georgia Museum of Art from April 8 through May 14. This annual show of work by School of Art graduating master of fine arts students includes Thomas Bosse, Julia Megan Burchett, Ellie Dent, Jamie Diaz, Arron Foster, Meirav Goldhour, Zachary Harris, Ariel Lockshaw, Shuk Han Lui, Jonathan Nowell, Reid Brechner, Amanda Scheutzow, Stephanie Sutton, and Dan Vu.
Sara Parker and Simon Hunt will give a talk at 1:25 pm on Wednesday, February 15th in room N225 about their textile design work currently on view in the C-U-B-E Galleryin the exhibition, Improvisation in Repeat.
