Financial Aid & Scholarships

Lamar Dodd School of Art scholarships provide undergraduate and graduate students financial support for tuition, research, art practice, and experiential learning experiences. Interested applicants are encouraged to review key information below before submitting an application.

Scholarship Application Process

The Lamar Dodd School of Art Scholarship program encompasses annual scholarships awarded to undergraduate and graduate students, including merit- and need-based support, area awards, and a few study abroad scholarships. It does not include graduate fellowships awarded to incoming graduate students or UGA Cortona Study Abroad awards; find more information about these awards and their requirements below.

Scholarship recipients are announced by late spring, and scholarship funds are awarded for the subsequent fall semester.

Lamar Dodd School of Art scholarships are made possible through generous contributions to the School that recognize and encourage academic and professional achievement. Please carefully review our timeline, requirements, and process below before consulting our lists of awards and submitting an application!

In order to apply for scholarships, Lamar Dodd School of Art requests that students participate in the following activities:

  1. Writing a thank you note to your donor by participating in a school-wide scholarship writing workshop.
  2.  Attend the Scholarship Recognition event (TBA).
  3. Complete an online scholarship gratitude report request; this request will come from our central development team at UGA.
