This week, the Lamar Dodd School of Art welcomes New York- and Texas-based photographer Rahim Fortune as a Visiting Artist. Fortune's visit to the School of Art coincides with his inclusion in a major survey exhibition of Southern photography at the High Museum in Atlanta titled A Long Arc: Photography and the American South since 1845

MFA students curate group exhibition for Atlanta Art Week

Organizers of the 2023 edition of Atlanta Art Week invited nine MFA students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art to present the group exhibition Unlisted at The Works, a mixed-use development in Atlanta’s Upper Westside, from October 3 through October 7, 2023.

UGA awarded National Science Foundation grant for arts and STEM graduate education

An interdisciplinary team of faculty are developing arts-based workshops with the support of an Innovations in Graduate Education award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The grant provides $499,835 of research funding to the University of Georgia and represents a partnership of campus programs including the UGA Arts Collaborative and the Center for Integrative Conservation Research. Paul Pfeiffer: Red Green Blue opens August 31 at the Athenaeum

The Athenaeum is thrilled to present Paul Pfeiffer: Red Green Blue, a video installation that marks the second project from New York-based artist Paul Pfeiffer’s extended collaboration with the Redcoat Marching Band at the University of Georgia. Pfeiffer, a pioneering artist in new media known for engaging ideas connected to media, spectacle, and sport, will exhibit a new video installation foregrounding the stadium as a broadcast studio. Visiting Artists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison discuss woodworking and ceramics

Lamar Dodd School of Art welcomes two visiting artists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison whose practices overlap in a new installation. Katie Hudnall, associate professor in woodworking and furniture, and Christina A.
