Twice a year the International Textile Alliance (ITA) Showtime Market Show Guide is printed and distributed worldwide with a circulation of 6500. The ITA’s Educational Foundation provides students the opportunity to gain exposure in the home furnishings industry through the ITA Showtime Market Show Guide Cover Competition by selecting a design and it is then applied to the cover.

Undergraduate Student Julia Urrea’s digital print has been selected as the winning design for the Spring 2021 Cover Competition! Her design will be featured on the cover of the Show Guide for our May 2021 trade show. Additionally, she will be featured in the Educational Foundation section of Showtime Magazine.

Her design was selected by an accomplished panel of textile designers, executives, merchandisers, and sales representatives. Julia is a very talented student and this recognition is an honor.

Julia is a student in her Junior year at the Lamar Dodd School of Arts where she is majoring in Fabric Design and minoring in Fashion Merchandising. She is from Alpharetta, Georgia and found her gravitation towards creativity by exploring her Colombian heritage and watching her mother draw as a child. Coming from a dance background as well, Julia’s favorite part of Fabric Design has been discovering the unique ways movement and can be depicted through CAD and surface design. She graduates from the University of Georgia in the spring of 2022.

Congratulations Julia!
