Assistant Professor of Jewelry and Metalwork Demitra Thomloudis and graduate student Guadelupe Navarro are included in the Metal Museum’s 40th Anniversary Exhibition, 40 Under 40. This exhibition will open on Sunday, May 26 and run through Sunday, September 15, 2019. The Museum will host a reception and gallery talk with the Director of Collections & Exhibitions on Sunday, June 2 at 3pm.
To continue the celebration of the Metal Museum’s 40th Anniversary, 40 Under 40 explores the next generation of influential American metal artists. This exhibition represents multiple areas of the field, including forging, casting, furniture design, jewelry, sculpture, hollowware, enamel, and tool making. As the Museum reflects on the previous 40 years, it sets the direction for the future by identifying the artists to watch as their careers flourish.
The Metal Museum in Memphis, TN is the only institution in the United States devoted exclusively to the advancement of the art and craft of fine metalwork.
