Students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art recently completed a new mural in the town of Tignall, Georgia. Hannah Duggan (Painting), Katherine Eidson (Drawing), Young Lim Lee (Painting), Benjamin Thrash (Art Education), and Lucy Wellborn (Graphic Design) worked for over a month on the project with student project leader Gunnar Tarsa, who recently graduated with a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of Art. The cross-departmental team was supervised by painting professor Joseph Norman.
Two Dodd students and one recent alumnus created and installed a colorful mural on campus in Snelling Dining Commons. Under the supervision of Professor Joseph Norman, recent graduate Gunnar Tarsa (BFA ’17) and current undergraduates Young Lim Lee and Hannah Duggan recently completed a 20-foot mural titled Word Space commissioned by Darnell Tate, Operational Manager at Snelling Dining Commons.
On Saturday May 13, 2017, Lamar Dodd School of Art students completed a large public mural honoring veterans in Rutledge, GA. This project came about through an agreement with the Rutledge Garden Club. President of the club Pam Strapp initially reached out to School of Art Professor Joseph Norman. She wanted to know if he would be interested in engaging his students to create a new mural that would honor and salute veterans who have served in the military.
