For the second year in a row, MFA students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art are participating in Atlanta Art Week. This year’s exhibition HOMEWORK is a collaboration with Georgia State University's Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design that features 19 graduate students enrolled in two of Georgia's anchor art university programs.

The 2023 Outstanding Teaching Award, sponsored by the Office of the Vice President of Instruction, has been awarded to graduate students J Taran Diamond (MFA candidate), Chad Hayward (MFA candidate), Devin Jo (PhD candidate in Art Education), and Tara Kraft-Ainsworth (PhD candidate in Art History) for their exceptional care and effectiveness in the classroom and studio.

2022 MFA graduate of the Lamar Dodd School of Art Victoria Dugger has been selected as an exhibiting artist for New Worlds: Georgia Women to Watch, a highly-competitive exhibition that will be presented by the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Georgia Committee at the Atlanta Contemporary in 2023.
