A Book of One's Own: DIY Artist Books + Printmaking with Jon Swindler

Spring 2026, Tuesdays, 6 – 8:30 pm

January 26 – March 30. Final course details subject to change. 10 weeks.

Delve into the exciting, overlapping worlds of printmaking and book arts. In this course, open to students of all levels, we will learn to make our own artist books bound and printed with two types of prints: woodcut and linocut. We’ll transfer your drawings to create hand carved woodblocks and hand printed linoleum blocks as editions via printing presses. These prints will become pages within a variety of book structures. Students can expect to carve and print approximately 10-12 blocks (each approximately 4”x6”) and construct at least 4-5 artist books and journals. Join us for this one of a kind class!

Spring 2026, Saturdays, 9 am – noon

3 sessions. February 14, 21, 28

Design, paint, and glaze one-of-a-kind ceramic tiles with local ceramics artist and Dodd instructor Maria Dondero. Participants of all art backgrounds welcome.
