Research Focus: Italian Renaissance Art, prints
Nelda Damiano is Pierre Daura Curator of European Art at the Georgia Museum of Art where she has organized exhibitions including “Beyond the Medici: The Haukohl Family Collection” (2025), “A Perfect Model: Prints after Anthony van Dyck’s Portraits,” (2024), “Wealth and Beauty: Pier Francesco Foschi and Painting in Renaissance Florence” (2023), “Master, Pupil, Follower: 16th- to 18th-Century Italian Works on Paper,” (2019). Damiano previously held curatorial positions at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, in Jacksonville, Florida and the National Gallery of Canada, in Ottawa, Ontario. She received her doctoral degree in art history from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where she wrote her dissertation on the Italian Renaissance artist Francesco Salviati. She obtained a master’s degree in museum studies and a bachelor’s degree in French literature and art history, both from the University of Montreal.
