Leah Mazza grew up on the outskirts of rural Pittsburgh, PA. After her undergraduate degree, she took a year off and in that time created props, costumes, and special effects for two musicals in her hometown, Lower Burrell. While at home she also continued to build her art portfolio producing a self-portrait series and repurposed alternative materials combined with metalsmithing techniques to form the basis of a new line of work. In 2017 she was accepted as an MFA Candidate at the University of Georgia where she taught, pursued new research, and built skill directed at her artistic endeavors.
