Jill Holliday is an artist and teacher with a mission to help people reconnect with their creativity. Mindfully, she makes a diverse body of work including paintings, pottery, and jewelry. The common thread in her art is the creative process itself. Teaching is an extension of her life-long learning process; she has over a decade of experience teaching art in the public school system and community, and five years of experience teaching yoga. She is currently exploring the intersection between art and yoga, helping students build awareness and skill. She holds a BFA in Art Education from the University of Georgia and a 200 hour RYT certificate from New Yoga Now. She is currently working in Savannah, Georgia.
Research Detail
I believe that making something with intention and care is a work of art. The creative process of focusing attention, building awareness, drawing connections, and refining skills are necessary for any field that requires the human hand to develop a unique idea. Understanding and working through this process yields artwork, but more importantly develops knowledge, creativity, and empathy. It is my passion and mission to help others connect with their creativity, expanding capabilities that support their own art making and personal growth. Combining mindfulness with art education provides structure and freedom to explore different materials and techniques, making a diverse body of work.
