Biography
Isys Hennigar is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in ceramics, wood, and metal. Her work invokes real and reimagined ecological encounters, exploring the ways in which landscape and the natural world are interpreted, reconstructed, and mythologized.
Exhibitions of her work include the American Museum of Ceramic Art (Pomona, CA), La Fondation Bernardaud (Limoges, France), Wassaic Project (Wassaic, NY), Sow & Tailor Gallery (Los Angeles), Signature Contemporary (Atlanta), Lump Gallery (Raleigh, NC), and the North Carolina Museum of Art (Raleigh, NC). She is the recipient of a 2024 South Arts State Fellowship and the 2025 Brightwork Fellowship. Isys received her MFA from the University of Georgia and her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
