Elaine Stephenson is an Atlanta native, currently living in Decatur, GA. A graphic designer at a non-profit by day, and by night she is an artist and muralist. Studying graphic design in college ignited her love for typography and lettering by hand, which led to her discovery of calligraphy. Now she combines lettering and painting to explore typography as art. Her paintings gear towards soft feminine abstractions with bright colors, while her mural work is more graphic in nature and always involves type. She is also becoming more involved in Public Art which is an exciting chance to create work that whole communities participate in and can feel ownership of.
