Catherine Ann Earley spent her time at Lamar Dodd School of Art specializing in American art, completing a thesis on a series of photographs of the nineteenth-century portrait painter Cecilia Beaux in her studio. Earley received her undergraduate degree in art history and english literature from Wofford College while serving as a registration intern at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC. With the support of the Willson Center for the Humanities and Arts and the Lamar Dodd School of Art, she has traveled to Philadelphia to do archival research essential to her MA thesis, entitled: “Her Creative Space: Photographs of Cecilia Beaux’s Studio, 1885-1890.”
