The Ann Orr Morris Memorial Fund presents a public lecture by visiting artist in jewelry and metalwork Katie Kameen on October 9. Kameen’s work will be on view at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens in an exhibition titled “Plastic Tense” from October 2, 2025 through January 24, 2026. Concurrent with this lecture, the Dodd Galleries will host an opening reception for 2 new exhibitions and guests are welcome to explore MFA open studios in the Main Building and nearby Ceramics Building from 5 – 7 pm.
Inspired by reuse, Katie makes colorful wearable sculptures from eco-friendly materials and found objects. She uses these post-consumer objects for their ability to communicate aspects of her life, such as memories, habits, labor, and the home. In her talk, she will discuss her process, inspirations, and provide a deeper understanding of the work.
