Once purely functional, fountains have for centuries served as a form of spectacle, the marking of triumph and the grandeur of civilizations.
"I like titles that are commands. I like the alliteration," explains New York-based artist Adam Sipe when describing the title of this exhibition, Wren Ring & Turtle. "I'd been playing around with the words 'ring' and 'wren', they're right next to each other, almost the same word.
“I have now seen sucrose beaches and water a very bright blue. I have seen an all-red leisure suit with flared lapels. I have smelled suntan lotion spread over 2,100 pounds of hot flesh. I have been addressed as “Mon” in three different nations.
