Potato, organized by MFA candidate in Painting and Drawing, Heather Foster, and implemented by her Intermediate Drawing undergraduate students, is an on-going cumulative exhibition that takes the insult “Couch Potato” as its point of inspiration. Featuring photos, paintings, altered furniture, and other found objects and assemblages, the works in the show address leisurely, unproductive activity in the home. Denying the form of the white box, the exhibition will display an all over quality. Thus, the irreverent placement of these thought-over, industriously crafted art objects pay homage to the useless moments that ignited their making.
