The Elements of Myth is an exhibition by Dodd graduate candidate, Kelsey Wishik, that emphasizes the material nature of phenomena. Drawing from her extensive research in Buddhism and various indigenous shamanic practices, Wishik engages in the repetitious act of weaving, stacking, and the welding of natural materials to create reverential art objects. Through the process of building this exhibition which includes paintings, drawings, and installation, Wishik reflects on the inner architecture of natural systems. The Elements of Myth draws from material investigation, participation in spiritual practices, and ritualization through object making.
