Cryptic for the Simple Minded is a compilation of works by MFA candidates Whitney Cleveland and Katlin Shae. Material and color act as catalysts for their formal and phenomenological examinations of the grid. Through weavings, paintings, and sculpture, their abstractions explore themes of the metaphorical and physical quality of line, sustainability, science, and contemporary culture.
