The Dodd Galleries are pleased to announce four new exhibitions opening on Thursday, March 3rd. Please join us that evening in the galleries for an opening reception from 5-7pm. The exhibitions, Stacks on Stacks, Entangled Memories, The Black Artists Alliance Juried Exhibition, and The 2022 Science and Medical Illustration Exhibition, will run through March 31st. In Stacks on Stacks, Mark Brosseau, Martha Clippinger, and Susan Klein, three artists from the Carolinas working in abstraction, present a rhythmic assemblage of their artworks exploring color, line, and form across various media. An exhibition of new ceramic works by Dodd MFA candidate Huey Lee, Entangled Memories, features everyday objects woven in clay resulting from the artist’s investigations into identity, trauma, and cultural difference. The Black Artists Alliance Juried Exhibition showcases work from Black artists at the University of Georgia selected by Professor of Art, Diane Edison. The BAA is committed to creating more opportunities and visibility for the university’s underrepresented Black students. The 2022 Science and Medical Illustration Exhibition, the 30th installation, includes work from undergraduate students in Science Illustration at the University of Georgia along with work from graduate students in Medical Illustration at Augusta University. Judges for this exhibition are professionals in medical and science illustration who work in and around the Athens area; awards will be given at a reception to be held on March 16th at 6pm in the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
