HOMEWORK | Atlanta Art Week Exhibition Reception

Add to Calendar 2024-10-01 18:00:00 2024-10-01 20:00:00 HOMEWORK | Atlanta Art Week Exhibition Reception Banner with artwork courtesy of Izzy Losskarn, MFA student.   The University of Georgia and Georgia State University are collaborating on HOMEWORK, a pop-up exhibition featuring artwork selected from each of the two premier MFA programs for the 2024 edition of Atlanta Art Week.  Curated by Athens-based artist Didi Dunphy, HOMEWORK is an exciting look at the mixed media explorations of this emerging art community readying to launch into the professional field of visual arts. Second- and third-year graduate candidates in HOMEWORK, working in a range of media, including metals, fiber, photography, and papermaking, explore concepts such as climate concern, identity politics, beauty, and storytelling. About the Curator

Didi Dunphy received an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.  Ms. Dunphy and her Modern Convenience studio have shown at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair for three years as well at the West Coast Independent Design show, CABOOM 2005. Selected Museum exhibits include A/D 2004, Chairs Project, Emory University, Sexual Politics, Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Georgia Triennial, Telfair Museum, Savannah, GA and most recently Playscape, at the Atlanta Contemporary.
