The Interdisciplinary Modernisms Workshop (ModSquad), in conjunction with the Association of Graduate Art Students will host Dr. Kathryn Floyd for a workshop on her essay “Exhibited in Photographs: Objects, Displays, and the Installation Shots that Define Them.” Dr. Floyd is a Professor of Art History at Auburn University where she teaches courses in Modern and Contemporary Art. Her research focuses on Dada and Surrealist exhibition practices and recent publications include “Writing the Histories of Dada and Surrealist Exhibitions: Problems and Possibilities” inDada/Surrealism(2017) and “d is for documenta: institutional identity for a periodic exhibition” in On Curating(2017). In advance of the roundtable, Floyd’s publication on the installation photographs of the 1937 Degenerate Art Exhibition will be circulated via the UGA ModSquad eLC site.
