Food, design, Harry Dawg, say no more! Join us for Dodd Design Day on Tuesday October 6 from 3 – 5 pm before our annual Jack Davis Lecture in Design at 5:30 pm.
Dodd Design Day invites UGA students to see the student-designed UGA Mean Machine up close, have a professional headshot taken, and chat with university partners about how Dodd students engage in exciting projects, make great industry connections, and get jobs thanks to our emphasis on career readiness!
Dodd Design Day will include:
- barbecue
- a visit from Harry Dawg
- professional headshots courtesy of the CAVE
- informational tables and outreach by

- Franklin CREATE!, a college initiative supporting entrepreneurship and start-ups by students

Stay after for the annual Jack Davis Lecture in Design with invited designer Georgianna Stout at 5:30 pm in room S151. Stout’s New York-based multidisciplinary design studio 2×4 was invited by Professor of Graphic Design and C-U-B-E Gallery Director Moon Jung Jang to present the exhibition Cross Section, on view October 5 – December 10 in the C-U-B-E in room N231.
A little more info about the Mean Machine: The Layton Design Studio was recently featured for their work in designing the UGA Mean Machine, “a custom-wrapped BMW that embodies the iconic energy of Bulldog Nation, has been a staple of game days and campus culture in Athens”.
