Research Detail

Lauren’s doctoral studies focus on the transmission of traditionally rooted artmaking practices within rural Northeast Georgia/Southern Appalachia, focusing specifically on how maternal generations transmit familial quilting practices, how traditional artmaking is a rooted and rooting agent in place, and the potentialities for a pedagogy of rootedness within art education.
