She pushes pigments to react on a surface rather than assuming total authority of the ultimate result. She allows ascending actions to dominate in lieu of multiple smaller actions; such as the unpredictability of an image ejecting from an analog and outdated ‘photographic method.’ The ideas of urgency and pressure, compression and eruption, to coalesce and disintegrate are all equal components within her work. She's interested in creating a series of artworks that articulates the non-verbal experiences of her audience via abstracted imagery to induce sensations of nostalgia and awareness of the body. Sydney Daniel is originally from Alpharetta, Georgia and received her BFA in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking in 2013 from Georgia State University. She has worked in art and event management and curatorial projects. Her studio practice is based in process within an investigation of materials and aesthetics formally. Working within matrixes of layers she explores the psychology of the human experience.
