For many years now, Ryan Roth’s artwork has primarily focused on the ethical and psychological challenges of the idea of the “corporate man” and his relentless pursuit of business success - or lack thereof. Typically, Roth explores the concept that while working within the environment of corporate America, people can sometimes blur the lines between what is ethical and what is not. Roth’s work typically focuses on the human figure, specifically the male figure, and the social anxieties and expectations that men place on themselves and others. By creating and exhibiting these works, Roth challenges these social norms and practices by bringing them to the forefront of our attention. 

Currently, Ryan Roth is teaching at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, SC. Before joining the faculty of the Fine Arts Center in 2012, Ryan Roth taught at The Ohio State University, Denison University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and The University of Georgia. He also was living in New York City working as an artist and for the top antique framer in the nation, Eli Wilner & Company. The company’s clients included, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian, the White House, Yale University, the New-York Historical Society, Christie’s and Sotheby’s, as well as many top collectors. Mr. Roth managed the graphic design of the company creating digital mock-ups as well as installing, fitting and framing some of the world’s most famous paintings.

Roth earned his BFA from Valdosta State University and got his MFA in Drawing and Painting at The University of Georgia. Roth has participated in various exhibitions across the United States. He has also participated in international exhibits in Europe and China.
