Richard T Scott is a painter working in New York. His portraits, interiors, and large scale compositions have exhibited across North America and Europe: Le Grand Palais in Paris, Palazzo Cini in Venice, Museu Europeu d'Art Modern in Barcelona, the Museum of New Art in Detroit, and are preserved in permanent collections worldwide such as the The New Britain Museum of American Art, the Georgia Museum of Art, MEAM, MACS, former British Arts Minister Alan Howarth of Newport, Philip Anschutz, and Robert C. Kennedy PhD. Among many honors he has received, Richard has designed coins and congressional medals for the United States Mint, and was honored as an Associate Living Master by the Art Renewal Center. 

After earning a BFA from UGA, and an MFA in painting at the New York Academy of Art, Richard worked as a painter for Jeff Koons, and subsequently apprenticed to Odd Nerdrum in Norway and Paris.

Richard has given lectures and workshops at prestigious institutions such as the Tyler School of Art, The Florence Academy of Art, The University of Georgia, The Lyme Academy, Laguna College of Art and Design, The Salmagundi Club, and the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts. Scott is co-author of The Nerdrum School, and his interviews, writing, and art have been feature on NPR, PRI, and in many national and international publications and books.
