Mary Gordon was born in Weinheim, Germany, but has lived in Kansas for most of her life. In 2015, she received BFAs in Printmaking and Painting from Kansas State University, and in recent years, has participated in various studio-based internships and residencies. Mary completed her MFA with a concentration in Printmaking & Book Arts at the University of Georgia in 2020.

Hanging on the edge of abstraction and representation, Gordon's work investigates the common, everyday aspects of existence, as well as humans' inherent connection to nature in their immediate spaces and within the broader landscape of their geographical surroundings. Gordon's process is an investigation of materials and methods, mainly printmaking, painting, drawing, and collage.
