Carissa DiCindio is Assistant Professor of Art & Visual Culture Education​ at the University of Arizona​. Until 2017, she served as curator of education at the Georgia Museum of Art. In addition to overseeing the education department at the museum, she coordinated its academic and public programs and developed opportunities for collaboration with university faculty and students. She was the curator of the exhibition The Lithographs of Carroll Cloar in 2014 and co-curator of Tools of the Trade in 2016. 

DiCindio graduated with a B.F.A. in studio art from Kutztown University and studied abroad in Cortona, Italy with UGA in 1999. She graduated from the master’s program in art history at UGA in 2004 then in 2012, earned a Ph.D. in art education with distinction. Her dissertation and subsequent research focus is on university students’ experiences in art museums..
