Amanda Britton

Amanda Britton is a textile artist + designer from Charlotte, North Carolina currently residing in Marietta, Georgia. In 2012, she graduated with a BFA in Fibers from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her studio practice revolves around concepts of documentation and preservation. She is interested in the perpetuation of the relationships between people, exploring families, place, narrative and language. Unabashedly personal in concept, Britton’s work is quirky and humorous in delivery. Utilizing unconventional materials including paper, vellum, resin and plexiglass, the result is an intricate fabric, “woven” with a variety of techniques, colors, and constructions. Britton has exhibited across the Southeast, with work at the Mint Museum Marcia Wood Gallery, Lyndon House Arts Center, Madison Museum of Fine Art and the Rowe Gallery
