Research Detail
As an artist and educator, my work is grounded in the belief that art is a powerful tool for identity formation, language connection, and social reflection. I often explore themes of memory, place, and cultural duality through mixed media, mural painting, and student collaboration.

My current art and research focuses on how art education can uplift multilingual learners by centering their stories and visual languages in the classroom. I’m particularly interested in curriculum approaches that combine cultural heritage, community-based artmaking, and student voice to create inclusive and transformative learning environments.
Biography

I’m a middle school art teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools and a graduate student in the Master of Art Education program at the University of Georgia. I earned my BFA in Art Education from UGA, where I first began exploring the intersection of visual arts, identity, and culturally responsive teaching. As a first-generation college graduate and Latina educator, I’m passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces where all students feel seen and empowered through art.

Outside of the classroom, I contribute to Color the World Bright, a public art initiative that brings murals and visual messaging into school environments to build connection and pride. My personal artwork has been exhibited in New York City and reflects my continued interest in community-based art and access to creative opportunities for all students. Through my graduate studies, I hope to refine my teaching practice, collaborate with like-minded educators, and continue advocating for equity and innovation in art education.
