Three new student exhibitions explore the ins and outs of the body and the home

Meat, bubble gum, and endoscopy— MFA students delve into visceral and sticky subjects in a new round of exhibitions at the Dodd Galleries: Meat-a-physics, Desirable, and Endoscope. Join us this Thursday October 10 at 270 River Road from 6 - 8 pm to celebrate three new shows parsing the ins and outs of the body and the home. UGA partners with Georgia State University for Atlanta Art Week

For the second year in a row, MFA students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art are participating in Atlanta Art Week. This year’s exhibition HOMEWORK is a collaboration with Georgia State University's Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design that features 19 graduate students enrolled in two of Georgia's anchor art university programs.

2024 MFA thesis exhibition “Sharpening a Screw” opens at the Athenaeum

This spring, nine students earning their Master's in Fine Arts (MFA) at the Lamar Dodd School of Art present Sharpening a Screw, a thesis exhibition at the Athenaeum opening to the public on April 12, 2024 from 6 - 8 pm.

Students invited to participate in second iteration of immersive Notre Dame sculpture workshop with Handshouse Studio

The Notre-Dame Project is an initiative that began in 2021, when Handshouse Studio led a team of experts and students in Washington, DC to begin reconstructing one of the trusses that once supported the great cathedral's roof, which was destroyed by fire in 2019.

Back to School Exhibition Opening at the Dodd

To celebrate the start of the Fall 2023 semester, the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia welcomes friends and members of the community to the Back to School Exhibition Opening, an occasion to meet six new faculty members and an incoming cohort of graduate students in studio art, art education, and art history while enjoying four exhibitions on view in the Dodd Galleries.

2023 Visiting Artist Craig Dongoski presents MYSTERIUM during the Summer Solstice

The Lamar Dodd School of Art welcomes Dongoski next week through the school's Visiting Artist and Scholar program for MYSTERIUM, a 36-hour durational art and music event involving dozens of artists and performers.
