UGA Art opens new downtown gallery space, The Athenaeum

The University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art announces the opening of the Athenaeum, a contemporary art space located in downtown Athens, Georgia. The 5000-square-foot space was recently renovated to accommodate art exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and classes, as well as a Reading Room featuring curated texts and audio-visual materials thematically related to current exhibitions. The Lamar Dodd School of Art is excited to have Grace Jun join the Graphic Design faculty. Her current research focuses of how design and accessibility can increase inclusion for people with disabilities, with expertise in applying user experience to wearables. Grace is a proud alumnus of both Parsons and RISD, majoring in Design & Technology (MFA) and Graphic Design (BFA) respectively. Esteemed Wheatley Professor in Fine Arts Emeritus, Art Rosenbaum, will present a major series of paintings Adamham Town and The Grey Rabbit Trilogy that will be shown together for the first time, alongside more recent works. Underexposed: Women Photographers from the Collection was curated by the High Museum’s Sarah Kennel with Maria L.
