Board of Advisors
The Board of Advisors are champions of the School who support the short and long-term goals of the school. The board recognizes that the Dodd has a never-ending objective to strive for excellence as an academic institution of higher learning in the visual arts, and the board desires to play a vital role is this endeavor.
The Mission for the Board of Advisors for the Lamar Dodd School of Art is to create a collegial atmosphere in which board members benefit from developing meaningful relationships with fellow board members. The board experience will offer opportunities for learning and further exposure to the arts and culture; social outings and occasional travel experiences.
Board members will benefit as well from exposure to the Dodd, including hands-on experience in various art classes and media; interaction with its staff and professors with the objective of having a well-rounded understanding of the school and all that it has to offer.
The mission of the Board is to support the school and specifically its director and to be aligned with the short- and long-term goals of the school. This requires board participation in the strategic planning process as specified by the director of the school. Board members are expected to support the school financially, as well as promote and endorse the school in the community at large.
Board members will be expected to participate in and support various activities and initiatives of the school, all of which are intended to elevate both the exposure and status of the Dodd and to help the school reach its goals.
The board recognizes that the Dodd has a never-ending objective to strive for excellence as an academic institution of higher learning in the visual arts, and the board desires to play a vital role is this endeavor.
The Dodd Board of Advisors experience is intended to be a richly rewarding experience, much like immersion into the arts, for all that participate.
