Spring 2026, Tuesdays, 6 – 8:30 pm
January 26 – March 30. Final course details subject to change. 10 weeks.
Registration opens fall
Delve into the exciting, overlapping worlds of printmaking and book arts. In this course, open to students of all levels, we will learn to make our own artist books bound and printed with two types of prints: woodcut and linocut. We’ll transfer your drawings to create hand carved woodblocks and hand printed linoleum blocks as editions via printing presses. These prints will become pages within a variety of book structures. Students can expect to carve and print approximately 10-12 blocks (each approximately 4”x6”) and construct at least 4-5 artist books and journals. Join us for this one of a kind class!

Students will construct work using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and a variety of other techniques in a professional workshop environment. The class will be concentrated on construction techniques and the development of each student’s personal work, primarily using steel, but will also incorporate other metals and materials. With demonstrations addressing shop procedures and students will gain the knowledge of proper equipment operation and safety in the metal shop.
