Undergraduate Portfolio Review

The current portfolio review period is for Scientific Illustration majors only. Detailed information about admissions into all of our areas of study can be found here.

Portfolio Review Application

Each student participating in the Portfolio Review must fill out and submit a Portfolio Review Application. This is for currently enrolled students only.

Scientific Illustration Area Requirements

  1. Scientific Illustration will hold Portfolio Review in Spring 2025 for students starting their major area classes in Fall 2025.

    Apply to Scientific Illustration in early March. The deadline is March 14.

  2. Students should fill out application

    Students should fill out the Portfolio Review Application.

  3. Upload the following:

    • a portfolio of 5-7 pieces of their best observational drawings
    • a copy of their transcript (unofficial is okay)
    • a one-page statement of intent

    Please make sure all files are labeled with your name.

  4. We are looking for the following visual qualities in applicant portfolios.

    • Technical execution
    • Light on form
    • Structural accuracy
    • Composition
