The Lamar Dodd School of Art is hiring an Art Studio Technician for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment. The appointment start date is anticipated for August 1, 2022.
Responsibilities
This position is an essential member of the Dodd Studio Support team and serves to manage various aspects of UGA’s Studio Art facilities including maintaining safe and smooth operation of studio facilities in a wide range of media, digital labs, safety protocols, hazardous waste, building equipment and expansion projects. As one of two Art Studio Technicians in the School, this position will be directly responsible for supporting the School’s three-dimensional studios inclusive of sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and metals, interior design, and the three-dimensional studios of the Core program. The position includes supervising graduate assistants, lab monitors, and work-study positions and will be responsible for training supervises, students, and faculty on the tools and technology of the facilities.
The position will include teaching 1-3 classes per year.
MFA preferred as well as technical competency working within the field of art, including the ability to operate, maintain, and repair a wide range of tools and equipment associated with traditional and digital art making processes.
