Honors courses are offered in a variety of majors and provide the opportunity to design and pursue independent interdisciplinary majors, more intensive versions of required courses, and independent study under faculty supervision leading to an Honors thesis. In addition to individualized advising throughout their education, Honors students are provided with special support for graduate and professional school applications, as well as fellowship and scholarship competitions. Students may enter the Honors Program as freshmen or after completing one semester’s enrollment. The Honors Program also accepts transfer students. Art History Honors students should contact the area chair before completing registration.
