After spending 12 years in Baltimore, I have returned to Athens to pursue a Ph.D. in Art Education. I also earned my BA in Studio Art and M.Ed. in Gifted and Creative Education from UGA in 2007. I intend to combine my background in art and education through my doctoral studies at UGA. I’ve taught in a variety of educational settings from the inner city public schools of Baltimore to the graduate level at Johns Hopkins University. My current research interests are in museum literacy and queer counternarratives. I also stay busy as a single parent to my 3 year old son, Kai.
