Biography
Effy Wang (b. China) is an artist working across installation, sculpture, painting, and bookmaking.
Wang’s work explores themes of immigration, care, domestic labor, and the construction of female subjectivity. Drawing from feminist theory, textile histories, and ecological thinking, she challenges the authority and permanence of traditional monumental forms, proposing softness, tenderness, and permeability as alternative modes of inscription.
Her recent projects include suspended thread-and-paper structures, white-on-white books that resist conventional readability, and narrative print works that imagine alternative relationships between humans and non-human beings.
