Graduation isn’t goodbye! A relationship with the Dodd lasts a lifetime. Whether you’re a recent graduate or earned your diploma long ago, it’s a good idea to stay connected to your alma mater.

And there are so many ways for alumni to stay connected! The Office of Alumni Relations at the Dodd is passionate about connecting our alumni network regionally, nationally and globally. It is in this spirit that all alumni and friends are encouraged to attend the Lamar Dodd School of Art’s exhibitions receptions, participate in events, mentoring, and career development initiatives, and join us on social media.

Here are just a few reasons why you should stay connected to the Dodd alumni community:

Events

Exhibitions receptions and alumni networking events are great ways of meeting fellow Dodd alums who work in your industry. Events provide the opportunity to connect with other alumni that might provide valuable industry information, know of job opportunities, or help collaborate on future projects. Many of our events are housed in the Lamar Dodd School of Art in Athens, Georgia, but the Dodd also hosts events in LA, New York, and other cities across the U.S.

Mentoring

The UGA Mentor Program, the University’s first comprehensive mentorship initiative, is a digital platform which allows students to form mentoring relationships with alumni, regardless of geographic location, who can help make their future a little clearer. The Mentorship program offers the opportunity to expand your personal and professional network, gain recognition as a developer of others, and develop your knowledge base by learning from mentees.
