DESCRIPTION:The University of Georgia, Lamar Dodd School of Art Presents\nNOTHING GOLD\nFall 2024 BFA Capstone Exhibition\nOpening Reception: Friday, November 22, 6-8 pm\nOn view: November 22, 2024 – December 5, 2024\n(ATHENS, GA) The University of Georgia, Lamar Dodd School of Art proudly presents NOTHING GOLD: Fall 2024 BFA Capstone Exhibition. An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 22nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Lamar Dodd Main Art Building. The show will be on view through December 5th.\nThis show is organized by and showcases the work of 17 graduating BFA students. NOTHING GOLD is free to attend and features an array of work, including ceramics, painting, metalwork, photography, and more.\nNOTHING GOLD is a reference to a line from Robert Frost’s “Nothing Gold Can Stay.”\nWhen describing the reason behind the show name, J., one of the exhibiting artists, explained that it refers to the changing of seasons and cycles of rebirth, similar to the shifting journey that this cohort of artists will be taking after graduation.\nProfessor Jaime Bull, who is teaching the Capstone Exit class this semester, said “This talented group of artists has worked together to create an impressive exhibition. From making their artworks, to curation, to marketing and promotion, and in creating a publication to further explain their works the BFA Fall 2024 Capstone students present an experience that is not to be missed.”\nThe work in the exhibition has been created by a group of artists with many different practices. For example, painter Anna Walden creates vibrant, light filled paintings evocative of daydream-like spaces with hints of pop-surrealism. Nicholas Christian is a photographer whose work explores the surrealism and absurdism of everyday life through the lens of digital images. Graphic Designer, Kayla Barbee, creates design-specific apparel that focuses on self-expression using animal motifs. Please explore the exhibition to enjoy many more works by emerging artists.\n\nThe complete group of exhibiting artists includes:\nKayla Barbee\nKelsie Casey\nNick Christian\nNatalie Gasser\nMaggie Googe\nMiles Harewood\nMady Hatcher\nHaley Hines\nElena Kaiser\nKrisp\nSamuel Martin\nJ.
