Siavash Tohidi was born in Tehran, Iran and earned an MFA in Sculpture and Expanded Practice from Ohio University School of Art and Design. He also holds BFA and MA degrees from University of Art Tehran. He has taught Foundation, Sculpture and Digital Design and Fabrication courses and has worked at Towson University, Ohio University, and University of Art in Tehran. Tohidi's interdisciplinary practice utilizes a variety of 2D and 3D media to present his perception of space and place particularly in urban setting where the surrounding spaces shape the body and movements. He is also interested in investigating how one can make sense of place in the age of constant displacement. He has shown his work in national and international venues such as CICA Museum, Manifest Gallery Annual photography publication, Masur Museum of Art, Bradley University, and St Louis Artist’s Guild, and he has won several awards for his works.
