Medical/Scientific Illustration and visualization, Digital Sculpting in ZBrush, DiCOM Diagnostic Data Manipulation, 3D Scanning, Photogrammetry, Didactic 3D modeling for real-time interactive experiences, Physical Medical/Scientific simulation using 3D Printing

Wes Price is a Board Certified Medical Illustrator with over 20 years professional experience in science visualization and education. He enjoys experimenting with 3D illustration techniques using photogrammetry, digital sculpting, and 3D printing. In the 1990’s, Wes Price earned a BFA in Scientific Illustration from the University of Georgia, and then his MS in Medical Illustration from Augusta University. His first internship after graduate school was with the Educational Resources Center in the School of Veterinary Medicine at UGA, where he gained valuable experience in providing illustration and animation to faculty who teach equine, canine, and avian physiology. Wes has thrived in a variety of roles as a medical illustrator, animator and video game artist across the United States and was a member of the Interactive Division of Engineering Animation, Inc., a Fortune 500 Company whose clientele included Hasbro Interactive, Mattel and New Line Cinema. For 12 years he served as an Associate Professor in the Media Arts and Animation Department at the Art Institute of Colorado, where he was named "Faculty of the Year" in 2011. More recently, he immigrated to the island of Grenada to serve as faculty in the Anatomical Sciences Department at St. George’s University School of Medicine. Currently he is the Director of the Center for BioMedical Visualization, a dynamic medical illustration and animation production unit whose mission is to pioneer the field of instructional design for both research and education. Wes is honored to bring his experience back to the Scientific Illustration Program and he feels that providing mentorship and instruction to new students is gratitude for a successful career that started at UGA so many years ago.

The Center for BioMedical Visualization within the School of Medicine at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, pioneers the fields of medical illustration, animation, and instructional design for both research and education. We empower faculty to elevate the user experience of their proprietary content with consultation and support to meet the ever-growing needs of their students and their goals in research. With an emphasis on simplicity and efficacy, our innovative solutions will communicate complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences, increase long term retention of course material and enhance student learning.
