Graphic Design Students Create Identity for Type Conference
The UGA graphic design program was chosen to design the identity for this year’s TypeCon, the annual conference of the Society of Typographic Aficionados.
Under the guidance of Associate Professor Julie Spivey, Blake Helman, Kory Gabriel, Alli Treen, Mary Rabun, Liz Minch and Kaitlyn O’Connor have worked diligently since January completing the identity for “MKE SHIFT” then designed all related promotional materials for the conference from web banners and posters to t-shirts and tote bags. The group attended the conference August 1—5 in Milwaukee, where they were able to see their work featured. Last week the project was featured on the popular type blog FontFeed.
