Art History Credits

Students who have taken courses at their native institutions that are equivalent to our required, two-part Art History survey, will be awarded credit that will count toward their core.  The courses ARHI 2300 (Art History I: Cave Painting to Michelangelo) and ARHI 2400 (Art History II: Baroque to Modern) must be completed in order at UGA.  However, if you have taken Art History II at your first school, you will be allowed to take the Art History I portion of the survey without being set back.

3000-level Art History transfer courses must be approved by the chair of Art History, Dr. Isabelle Wallace (iwallace@uga.edu).

It is the policy of the Art History area to not accept credit for 4000-level Art History transfer courses.
