Isabelle Loring Wallace teaches lecture courses and seminars on contemporary art and theory, as well as a required graduate seminar on historiography and methods. Her research attends to broad philosophical questions about the nature of representation and subjectivity, and her publications have covered a wide range of artists and objects in an effort to address these issues: Edouard Manet, Marcel Duchamp, Jenny Saville, Wim Delvoye, the Chapman Brothers, Steven Meisel and, most intensively, Jasper Johns, the subject of her recent book (Phaidon 2014). Isabelle Loring Wallace is also co-editor, with Jennifer Hirsh, of Contemporary Art and Classical Myth (Ashgate 2011) and co-editor, with Nora Wendl, of Contemporary Art About Architecture: A Strange Utility (Ashgate 2013).
