Isabelle Loring Wallace teaches lecture courses and seminars on contemporary art and theory, as well as a required graduate seminar on historiography and methods. Her research attends to broad philosophical questions about the nature of representation and subjectivity in the West and her publications have covered a wide range of artists and objects in an effort to address these issues: Manet, Duchamp, Jenny Saville, the Chapman Brothers, Steven Meisel, Wim Delvoye, Paul Pfeiffer and, most intensively, Jasper Johns, the subject of her forthcoming book. Professor Wallace is also co-editor, with Jennifer Hirsh, of Contemporary Art and Classical Myth (Ashgate 2011), and, with Nora Wendl,  the co-editor of Architectural Strategies in Contemporary Art, forthcoming with Ashgate in 2013.
